History of our kindergarten

The establishment of a kindergarten from 1998 in a rented building on Jalan Panglima Banting Kibabaig, started by Mrs. Anne Lasimbang to help children from rural areas get early childhood education.

On 2007, our kindergarten had moved in a new building at Kg. Kivatu Taman Flash Gordon KM 18, Jln Tambunan 89507 Penampang. Until now, Suasindak Kindergarten has been operating for over 27 years and a total of 1295 students who have received certificates. Today, we are proud our mission continues, with an incredible community of educators, parents, students, and graduates.

What we do?

Our multi-level kindergarten programs cater to the age group of 4-5 years old using the National Preschool Standard Curriculum (KSPK) from the Ministry of Education (KPM), which using an integrated student-centered learning strategy, thinking skills and observation skills; and investigating based on the environment (hands on) as well as seeing the comprehensive development of children through learning activities in and out of class.

We celebrate all the occasions with great enthusiasm aiming to inculcate the cultural values in our Kindergarten. Some of our events & celebrations include:

  • Kaamatan Festival – Storytelling and suminding competition in mother tonguelanguage
  • Family day- traditional sports
  • Study tour of the school and outside the school
  • Concert and certificate presentation for Kindergarten students
  • Gresunali Bazaar
  • Children’s Day celebration

Vission
1. Improving early childhood care and education among rural Indigenous Peoples is provided and ongoing.

2. Strengthen the parents and community committee in the village to manage the Center and Early Childhood Education more sustainably.

3. Strengthening traditional knowledge, pure values, language and culture of the Indigenous Peoples.
Mission

Our Objectives

Prepare children before entering primary school by using the curriculum provided by the Malaysian Ministry of Education, as well as other appropriate programs based on their own values ​​and culture, local materials and mother tongue.

Provide additional education on health, nutrition and a balanced environment.​

Promoting and enhancing traditions, culture and values of positive beliefs on Indigenous Peoples.​

School terms

The school year is divided into 4 terms (2025/2026 session):

Term 1: 29.05.2025 – 09.06.2025

Term 2: 13.09.2025 – 21.09.2025

Term 3: 20.12.2025 – 11.01.2026

Term Breaks

The school will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted Public Holidays.

Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
