About Us
What we do & how we started
Guwas Koposizon Centre (GKC) officially started on 18 January 2018. The word Guwas Koposizon comes from the Kadazandusun language, meaning “Source of Life,” and is inspired by the work of Gawad Kalinga in the Philippines. Guwas Koposizon Centre aims to create an ecosystem of learning based on agriculture and social entrepreneurship through the SEEDS (School of Experiential and Entrepreneurship Development) program. The SEEDS program at Guwas Koposizon Centre, a non-formal education initiative, will provide entrepreneurship skills training and personal development for 2 years to marginalized youth aged 15 to 25. We also offer opportunities for youths that interested in taking a short-term course lasting 3 months. GKC is also more flexible by offering opportunities to undergo training for 6 months and 1 year. These youths will be given essential entrepreneurial skills and self-development.
Outcome Program
Building a core group of disciplined young entrepreneurs who view agriculture and livestock farming as a viable business and not just a traditional way of life.
Empowering self-confidence, communication skills, and leadership to help improve overall personal performance.
Providing practical skills and community living experiences in different villages, as well as work experience in the community according to the project’s objectives.
Showing that agricultural production with modern targets, processing, and marketing is a reliable development that can produce motivated youth to continue working on the land and balance socio-economic development in rural and urban areas.
Designed to help students realize their potential
